I gave in to my frustration yesterday, twards Adelaide's sloth's pace.
The Internet in my room had been down for the whole day. (as it had been for weeks since the technicians were obviously paid to cultivate algae cultures on their backs). So out of desperation, i went out to get Optus' prepaid internet. Mac users had to call the customer service hotline for configuration, which was what i did, which was when i realized that the operator at the other end had an impenetrably thick indian accent. again. (She told me all the Cust svc lines go to India) Fast forward to 30 long (and painful - cos i was on a prepaid mobile plan and also i had great pains understanding her and she-me) minutes later, my configuration process got canned. Cos my macbk hasnt got an internal modem.
I threw a childish fit and called Lester to rant.
And then i went to Chinatown.
Cos the imprisoning effect of staying in my room might cause more implosions, and certain objects within my reach might take flight (which will then cut into my 500 dollar rm deposit) And so i went out without my mind intact, following the other singaporeans, not contributing much intellectually to conversations (my mind was still in my room trying to fling itself off my 2nd storey window) And i questioned myself again why i'm here, amidst spoonfuls of pig belly soup which i had to drink under peer pressure.
The hostel's populace was drunk or drinking as usual. I looked over to the unopened bottle of vodka on my shelf i thought, do i feel compelled to fit in?
